Guided tours

Lusto offers guided tours of exhibitions, the Natural Resources Institute Finland’s (Luke) research forest and Arboretum and the esker area.

The usual ticket price is charged in addition to a supplementary fee for the guided tour. Group ticket prices per person.

Exhibitions

Our guided exhibition tours help you to immerse yourself in Lusto’s exhibitions and the fascinating world of forest stories. The tours last 60 minutes. Guided tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance.

Group size: max. 25 persons per guide, larger groups are divided into smaller groups.

Public guided tours during summer

Public guided tours to the exhibitions are organized daily in the summertime (included in the admission fee). Duration: approximately 15-20 minutes.

Guided tours of the nature sites

Lusto offers guided tours of the nature sites in the area: the Natural Resources Institute Finland’s research forest and Arboretum and the esker area. The guided tours are made on foot.

Languages available: Finnish and English.

Guided tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance.

Tour of the esker

  • 60-90 minutes / EUR 140

Visitors are introduced to Punkaharju’s cultural history, from its Stone Age settlement to a borderland between Sweden and Russia, and from the slash-and-burn landscape on the esker under Alexander I’s rule to the most famous national landscape in Finland. The group learns about the cultural and natural history of the area and can admire the stunningly beautiful views over lakes Puruvesi and Pihlajavesi.

Guided tour of the Arboretum

In addition to native tree species and various hybrid species, the Natural Resources Institute Finland’s Arboretum also has alien species that thrive in Finland. A total of 54 species of coniferous trees and 48 species of deciduous trees grow in the small area. Visitors can also possibly see the tallest tree in Finland during the tour.
